Big Sean – Two Can Win (J Dilla)

bigseantwocanwin

Medium Sean throws down a few bars on “Two Can Win” in tribute to Dilla. Sean had this to say about it: ” In honor of J. Dilla being one of the most influential producers of all time, I decided to lay a verse to one of my favorite tracks off of J. Dilla’s Donuts. Being from Detroit I feel I have a responsibility to honor his legacy n continue it in my own way. His soul will live forever… RIP J. Dilla”

Young Jeezy – I Do (Feat. Jay-Z, Drake & Andre 3000) (Alternate Version)

jeezydrake

“I Do” is one of our favorite hip hop tracks three months ago, two months ago, RIGHT NOW. We’ve still got “I Do” on some serious rotation. So you can imagine we let out a collective b3sci “HELL YES” when we got ears on this alternate version of “I Do” which includes a Drizzy feature. Yeah! That’s a “Friday surprise” we can get behind. Hit that play button.

Labrinth – Earthquake (Feat. Busta Rhymes) (Remix)

labrinthearthquake

Supposedly, this freshly released Busta-featured version of Labrinth’s massive “Earthquake” track (one of our favorites from last year) is just a piece of a (hopefully) forthcoming mega remix of the track featuring not only Bussa Buss but U.K. vet Kano, the always live Wretch 32, and a new verse from original track featuree Tinie Tempah. That’s cool. For now, we’ve got this Busta only version for y’all to sample. Like we’re not the biggest Busta marks out there but the dude definitely goes in here. Get it, girl.

Shawn Chrystopher – One of My Homies

shawnchrystopher

Inglewood MC Shawn Chrystopher lets loose “One of My Homies”, the first single off his My Name Is Shawn project which is due in July. The excellent “One of My Homies” is built on Shawn’s float-on-top-the-mix flow and a heavy vibe 2 AM (awesome) beat. Ride out to this one.

Stalley – BCGMMG

stalley

Stalley goes in again for the 330 on new track “BCGMMG”. Produced by Block Beattaz, “BCGMMG” is another in the Massillon rapper’s ongoing #songsbystalley Savage Journey to the American Dream project (which we couldn’t be more psyched for) build-up series. Can’t wait to hear our hometown dude on some of those A-level Maybach $$$$ beats. #330.

Prodigy – I’m From the Trap (Feat. French Montana) (Prod. Havoc)

prodigy

Our man Havoc cooks up a heater for the Mobb Deep vet. Prodigy and French Montana (weirdest name in rap) rhyme well enough but Havoc’s eyes-to-the-sky chest-puffed-out beat is the main attraction here. Get it girl below.

Teen Daze – Brooklyn Sunburn

By Jon Herriot

teen-daze

Whenever I listen to Teen Daze I always find myself grooving out a little bit. “Brooklyn Sunburn” starts out nice and slow, and builds into something funky. There is one continuous underlying beat but TD keeps us captured throughout the entire track with subtle changes and twists around every corner, including some haunting backing vocals from LA artist Steph Thompson. The new Teen Daze LP All of Us comes out on May 22nd, make sure you check it out!

Heems – Mr. India

heemsmrindia

Heems, of Das Racist fame, dropped a mixtape project last week Nehru Jackets. That was cool. Now Heems lets go “Mr India” a fresh (and as the title indicates) Indian-inflected big beat loose track. Thanks Heems!

Ed Sheeran & Yelawolf – You Don’t Know (For Fuck’s Sake)

By Aisling Sheehan

edsheeranyelawolf

Ed Sheeran’s mellow vocals are a great counterpoint to Alabama rapper Yelawolf’s badass rhymes. The lyrics are clever, and the contrast really works. Sheeran gets bonus points for being friends with Britpop boy band One Direction. 🙂
