Akurei – Photophobia

Akurei, an indietronica artist from Brisbane, has put out “Photophobia.” The single is a glittery house track with fast paced lyrics, a sea of subtle percussion, and ethereal backing synths. It’s a glitchy ode to the artist’s journey with chronic migraines, and the personal hurdles that have followed.

Chromonicci – Into Me

On “Into Me” Chromonicci skates across tinkling electric pianos and a jazz/house-influenced bit of future R&B rhythm/instrumental with the plea “Are you into me baby?”. We’re into it.

Benji Lewis – Deep Blue

Australian artist Benji Lewis has released “DEEP BLUE,” a bubbly pop track verging on neo-soul with warm drums and scintillating synths. While the melody meanders and never quite seems to find its grounding, the sunny instrumentation remains a captivating hook. Look forward to the artist’s upcoming EP, which will feature this track along with several more colorful tunes.

Crayon – Pink (Feat. Lossapardo)

“She dreams of driving the yellow cabriolet”. The slow motion cinema of “Pink” from Roche Musique stalwart Crayon is one of our favorite tracks of the year so far. Pacing, producting, the way the vocal sits in the track are all exampled here on “Pink” at their highest level.

Premiere: Colin Magalong – Blossom

“Blossom” is the first track online from SF native and LA-based Colin Magalong. On “Blossom”, Magalong packs big-time crossover-ready vocal into a hooky instrumental influenced by heroes MJ, Daft Punk. Magalong calls “Blossom” “a song inspired by my first impressions of East LA nightlife.” “Blossom” is a soulful feel-good number that will be stuck in your brain just as quickly as it will have your toes-tapping and head-nodding. A strong debut. Stream the B3SCI Premiere of “Blossom” from Colin Magalong below.

Lolo Zouai – Blue

“Da Ba Dee Da Ba Daa.” Lolo Zouai’s “Blue” features (in one of its primary hooks) the greatest interpolation of Eiffel 65 of all time. It’s also a way cool song from an artist very quickly on the rise. Listen below.

Marian Hill – Subtle Thing

The east coast electronica duo Marian Hill have put out “Subtle Thing,” a pop-y drum and bass track. The instrumentation is a tasteful testament to the old “less is more” proverb. Samantha Gongol’s signature vocals caress your ears like velvet as mutilated bits of her voice pop in and out of existence. The group is expertly creating their own brand of minimalist EDM.

LAOISE – Bother

New from Dublin-based LAOISE is the superb “Bother”. “Bother” is A+ pop fitted with cool and varied instrumentation and powered by the locomotion of hook after hook after hook whirling by in a most potent and listenable succession.
