Henry Green – Closer

“Closer” is the lead track from UK artist Henry Green’s forthcoming “Real” EP for Akira Records. The plaintive acoustic guitar-driven “Closer” earns it’s dough on a stunning set of moving melodies and it’s unexpected turns of subtle electronic production. The resulting effect is pretty extraordinary and transportive. Listen to “Closer” below.

Houston Kendrick – Hey Now (Feat. Zach Taylor)

If you like Frank Ocean, you gotta check out one of the most underrated R&B artist’s in the game, houston kendrick. On his latest track, ‘Hey Now’ (ft. Zach Taylor), what feels like references to early 90’s R&B is reworked into a modern electronic banger. Silk smooth beats and vocals give this track a chilled out vibe perfect for the weekend. Enjoy.

B3SCI Premiere: Magic Bronson – What a Week

Photo: Emily Linderman

“What a Week” is the breezy new track from the L.A.-based duo of Michael Nicastro and Matthew Lieberman a/k/a Magic Bronson. The follow-up to the twosome’s self-titled EP from earlier this year which garnered praise from KCRW and Buzzbands.la, “What a Week” knocked us out initially for its refreshing and unpredictable sound (it feels refreshing even typing the phrase, “refreshing and unpredictable sound”!). Built on a vaguely house-y rhythm and synth template and backed by pan-genre multi-regional splashes of influence and sound (that cuica-sounding hook thing in the chorus is particularly cool), “What a Week” finds Magic Bronson continuing to push things forward sonically while keeping it all very listenable in the process. Stream the B3SCI Premiere of “What a Week” from Magic Bronson below.

BATTS – Lie To Me

Melbourne AU artist BATTS puts down a dreamy warm alto vocal over a neatly constructed downtempo instrumental (produced by Birmingham artist Ficci) to potent effect on new “Lie To Me” single. What a stunner of a track.

Yellow Days – Your Hand Holding Mine

Freshly signed to Good Years (BANKS, Francis and the Lights) is talented newcomer Yellow Days. Singing in an gritty earthen timbre reminding a bit of Eric Burdon, Yellow Days “Your Hand Holding Mine”‘s adept blend of modern “spacey” production cues and it’s gutty magnetic vocal is a refreshing new music entry. Listen.
