Your Friend, aka Domino Records artist Taryn Miller, will release her debut full-length Gumption in January. The melancholic melodic whirl of “Heathering” is the LP’s beautiful first track. Slow motion reverb, down-in-the-mix percussion and an expansive frame of scintillating (in the twinkling sense) electronics and bobs of circling guitar taps mark “Heathering”s cinematic sound. Press play on this new one from L.A.-based Mereki and shit gets immediately rowdy. The SoCal singer brings a charming raucousness of industrial and punk noise to her well-informed and balanced pop songwriting craft. It’s been too long since we’ve from heard from Mereki, and it seems now between collaboration and live stints with the likes of Goldroom, she’s also been hard at work on more original material, and if “Dth Buny” serves an indication – those upcoming tracks are poised to impress. Be sure to check her out live before the New Year if you’ll be in L.A. area.

“Solar” is the debut track online from Reading UK newcomers HAIZE. Best pals with Sundara Karma in the Reading scene, the quartet (all aged 18 years!) operate (much like SK) within a space of instrumentally artful indie ruddered by a strong command pop hook writing and song structure. In talking about the anthemic track’s origins HAIZE described “Solar” as “the first song to come together properly as a band. It’s all our favourite live song to play and is always sure to make us let loose at the end of a set.” and lyrically about “being stuck in the middle ground when ending with someone and second guessing every feeling, but in the end realising whats best and having to deal with it. In a way it’s a heartbreak song but goes through all the stages you go through when it’s over with someone.” We’re pleased to B3 Premiere the debut track from the very promising HAIZE. Enjoy below.

Get familiar with Brisbane, AU multi-talented six-piece multi-instrumental dream pop group Yuuca who just released their amazing second original single “Melt” a mild-natured indie-instrumentals-driven track that we’re enjoying for its spectacular beautifully-emotive syrupy-sweet deep-dreamy harmonic layered vocal atmospheres. We indeed look forward to hearing more from new-find Yuuca (who we think sound a touch like the Sundays). Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Here’s a Seattle 3-piece that’s hard rock, psychedelic, slightly retro, dancy, and much more. The Gods Themselves list their genre as Psychedelic Dance Music and the bottom line is they sound fresh as hell on “Tangerines” from their Pink Noise album. If you’re hooked on guitar hooks, this track will probably slay you. The tune launches with a winning riff that you’ll swear you’ve heard a million times–but it’s slightly bent. There are a few curve balls in this tune, such as the sudden synth solo that feels like a cool lemonade on a hot day. I find their music goes well with The Dead Weather, with Astra Elane’s raw rock guitars and vocals. They just completed a tour of the Pacific Northwest. No further dates are listed but let’s hope they hit some more distant destinations very soon. Reviewed by Bruce Rave.

Manchester band Spring King deliver a jolting return on “Who Are You?”. From the jump, “Who Are You” is all go/all energy as a disto wall of guitar propels the track in a kugelblitz-esque fashion. The hook is quite strong and memorable too as evidenced by my tapping involuntary tapping of my keyboard to the chant-y bit “WHO ARE YOU?!”. Excellent track.
