Eliza Shaddad – Wars

elizashaddad

UK songwriter Eliza Shaddad announces new “Wars” EP with gritty quieting title track. “Wars” which will be the follow-up to 2014’s great “Waters” EP was produced by Mercury-nominated Chris Bond and Shaddad describes the EP as having a “more brutal sound”. We dig the upped urgency indicated by the track “Wars”‘s sound and are stoked to hear more.

ROCH – Closer

ROCH

The emotively accurate “Closer” is the career debut for ROCH. “Closer” is beautiful. Wrapped about a spare electric guitar and hushed piano chords and centered on ROCH’s magnetic alto, “Closer” is a very special debut from a potentially very special artist.

Oh Wonder – Heart Hope

ohwonder

Oh Wonder woos us yet again with their sweet-vibration singer songwriter magic on “Heart Hope” the duo’s last song to release in advance of their impending debut out later this week. Oh Wonder, who we started covering last October, first captured our ear on “Shark” the wily wild-side golden-touched song number two from the duo’s one track a month for a year series; a project that has consistently held our attentions and impressed us with its amazing thoughtfully-emoted melody-backed songwriting. We like “Heart Hope” as a perfectly quieting project cake-topper conclusion to Oh Wonder’s dynamite prolific series as it beautifully showcases their (now signature) slow-simmering luminous-synth-touched muted-paced melody-driven style and adds a little chic end-note twist of witty-uplifting inner-self-worldview songwriting wisdom into the mix. Rhodes & Birdy – Let It All Go

rhodes

Earlier this year B3 covered the impeccable modern pop style of UK singer-songwriter RHODES on “Turning Back Around” the excellent single from his debut “Wishes” EP which is out on September 18th. We like RHODES’ latest (totally breathtaking) installment from the EP called “Let It All Go” on which RHODES joins forces with remix-darling BIRDY. Recently premiered as Huw Stephens’ Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 new track “Let It All Go” is a quietly-enamoring standout-timeless pop-ballad which deeply and artfully showcases a beautifully-simple soft-percolating raw-emotion chaotic-harmonic male-female artistic cohesion that might just land the track on some singer-songwriter best-of-lists for 2015. Premiere: Haux – Caves

haux

Berkshire UK native Woodson Black a/k/a Haux channels pinpoint modern pop songwriting (think Ben Leftwich or Aquilo) through the frame of sweeping and stunning electronic instrumentation. Single “Caves” with its numerous turns of brilliant melody and broad but subtle hook-laden accessibility amounts to a wide-net platform from which the talented Haux can build a recording career. The “Caves” single is out today and available for streaming on Spotify. Stream the B3 Premiere of the video for Haux’s “Caves” below.

Heather Woods Broderick – Wyoming

heatherwoodsbroderick

Lose yourself in the sublimely dreamy far-in-the-distance calm-in-the-the-air vibe, carefully-subdued instrumental atmosphere and softly reverberating mix of guitar and melodic vocals on the new mind-soothing trickle-paced track “Wyoming” from B3 new artist find Heather Wood Broderick, who excels on the track (which also features Peter Broderick on drums and Dave Depper on bass) for embodying a catchy, intangible and evocative soulful melancholy in her vocal delivery that may remind of Slowdive. Nice track. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Alex Burey – Waiting On Tomorrow

alexburey

In February B3 featured the submarine-depth Pink Floyd-esque expansive-vibe “Family Stone” EP lead-single “Come Over” from London-based songwriter and accomplished pianist Alex Burey which is off his second self-produced four-track EP to release this year after “Inside World”. We like Burey’s September-release vintage-vibe new jam “Waiting on Tomorrow” which revels in a unique-sounding Burt Bacharach folky-crooner vocal style, 60-70’s horn-filled soul-funk instrumental accents from vintage revivalist band The Dap-Kings and Burey’s contrastingly strange slightly-lamentful lyrics which meld quirk-ily with the track’s cheery instrumental sentiment (in a good way). Eskimeaux – I Admit I’m Scared

eskimeaux

Eskimeaux is the recording project of NYC-based singer-songwriter/producer Gabrielle Smith who recently released her new indie-pop album O.K. via Double Whammy. We like the witty-versed guitar-driven slowly-escalating character of the track “I Admit I’m Scared” which is a perfect slice of poetic catchily-hooked drum-laden bedroom pop that we hope to find on the rest of the album. Miles Clark-Wallace – Enough to Love

milesclarkwallace

We love the fresh and emotive wisdom-pop wonder track “Enough to Love” from an immensely talented pop artist and new-discovery Miles Clark Wallace a young British lad who possesses a similarly excellent and accomplished beyond-his-years depth-of-humor lyricism, inviting folky-sensitive vibe and subdued indie instrumental sense of style as the one and only godfather of anti-folk, Beck. Great track! Reviewed by Erin Shay.
