CHLLNGR – Sundown (Feat. Coco O. of Quadron)

chllngr

Danish production dude and apparent abhorrer of vwls picks up fellow countrywoman and Queen of Danish R&B Quadron’s Coco O. for new track “Sundown”. The song’s bouncy grind and its eerie “You’re Runnin’ Out of Time” refrain actually counterpoint each other quite well. “Sundown” is a sharply executed piece of vocal electronic music. Get that Danish R&B.

Nick Waterhouse & The Turn-keys – Some Place

nick-waterhouse

California-based, Nick Waterhouse & The Turn-keys’ “Some Place” puts a gritty, raw, and rhythmic spin on contemporary Jazz and R&B. The beginning vocals, reminiscent of the legendary Buddy Guy, are almost shriek-like and lets you know right away that you’re in for something special. The song has a loose and stirring flow and will have you putting your arm around your girlfriend/boyfriend in no time. Contributed by Trevor Meyer

Lana Del Rey – Video Games (Jamie Woon Refix)

lana

Wow, so much cool shit going on in this remix (What else would you expect from J. Woon?). Garage, 90’s hip hop, 00’s hip hop, EDM, all those references and more are there. Jamie had a great track to work with but wow (again). We would LOVE to hear more Jamie Woon remixes! Keep’em comin’ Jamie!

Elle Varner – Only Wanna Give It To You (Feat. J. Cole)

ellevarner

At b3sci, if there’s one thing we love it’s cheesy pop & b. Elle Varner’s “Only Wanna Give It To You” is a class example of that genre. With a melody that sounds ripped out of a late 90’s Brandy song and a heavy little 2 step beat, “Only Wanna” will no doubt get you and your boo hyped. Also….. the track’s got a J. Cole feature on it, and with the roll Jermaine’s been riding, that alone is reason to listen. Fortunately for Ms. Varner it’s not the only one.

Robin Thicke – Love After War

thicke

Thicke is back. Swagger intact, the smooth merchant delivers “Love After War”, the title track from his upcoming 5th LP. Our man Thicke on LP #5! Give it up one time for R. Thicke. OK, so how good is “Love After War”? It’s “pretty good”, it’s pretty standard Thicke, (which means this track will get any of our grown and sexy readers bodies movin’ on play one. We love you b3sci grown and sexy crowd!) For the not so grown and/or not so sexy, “Love After War” will make you feel like you are actually both those things and more.

THROWBACK SATURDAYS: Joe – Stutter (Feat. Mystikal)

joestutter

#1 for 4 weeks back in February-March 2001 and co-produced by the legendary Teddy Riley, the “Stutter” remix featuring Mystikal (who finally got out of jail not too long ago but who we still wouldn’t fuck with) still crushes. This song (or really any song that samples “Passing Me By”) could be released today and be a top 10 Hot 100 hit. Joe’s comin’ for you Pitbull. #dontbelyinwhenyouretalkintojoe
