Noname Gypsy teams with another Chicagoan Saba for the coolly soulful new one “Open Apology”. A quieting Rhodes conveys a grey CHI backdrop on “Open Apology” as the two talented native emcees trade evocative smoothly hewn bars. Listen.

The London-residing duo of Christina Wood and Cicely Goulder, KALEIDA, return on track “Detune”, the first stream from upcoming sophomore EP. An icy/glacial lumbering number “Detune” moves with a cool measured pace and features a set of melodies that seep in and throughout the mix in a sort of symbiotic “whole-music” (I’m sure there’s a fancy German loan word for this) that is quite powerful overall. “Detune” is an excellent almost cinematographic approach to pop writing that adeptly uses vast swaths and characteristics of the tune and recording to create a encompassing and very potent listen.

Russian in Boston Exale makes a strong B3 debut with a funkified nu-disco remix for Pharrell Williams collaborators Mansions On The Moon’s single for “Radio”. A component part of a new free download (w/ the original “Radio” track) for fans to mark a year on since the release of MOTM’s debut album, Exale’s mix marries French-inspired warm house tones with a decidedly more rhythmically angular bent. Spin the B3SCI Premiere of Exale’s excellent new remix for Mansions On The Moon’s “Radio” below.

We like the latest bright-perspective synth-framed dance-oriented remix of Deutsch Duke sultry-crooner soul track “Harder Without You” from talented B3-featured Sydney-based future-funk producer MXXWLL (also known as Maxwell Bidstrup); an artist who we covered in August for his slick and beautifully-centered sweet-nurturing funk-driven vox-enhanced calm-vibe spin on Jodie Abacus track “Good Feeling”. Berlin-based contemporary deep house producer Oskar Offerman excels with a brilliant new slow-burner track called “Find Yourself”, an expansive-natured rhythm-based original which we like for its artfully-deliberate slow-unfolding 90’s-infused Massive Attack-“Paradise Circus” vibes, heated whispery-obscure vocal elements, and nicely-varied mosh of heavy bass-driven metallic percussion. Check out the new track on Oskar Offermann’s latest Mule Musiq-rep’d EP “Le Grand To Do” (full stream available on November 13th). Awesome. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Here Ofelia K’s “Gone” vocal has been positioned by Duncan Murray ethereally atop the mix and meshed with driving arpeggiations and washes of late night house atmosphere. It’s a sleek and sultry take on the track that we totally adore. Spin the B3SCI Premiere of Duncan Murray’s remix of “Gone” by Ofelia K below.

“Lover”, the 90’s-vibed latest original track from Amtrac, will be featured on Kitsune’s dynamite Hot Stream compilation. “Lover” earns its bread on a never quit house-flavored rhythm track that is impossible not to move to; mix in a neat smattering of syncopated synth lines and looped vocals and “Lover” has all the pieces and execution for an A+ track. Into it.

“Riding the L” is the latest wildly-cinematic lounge-y fantastical jazzy-horn-entwined funk-centric Chicago-street-vibe-imbued tune from B3 new-fave artist Flamingosis (a.k.a. Aaron Valasquez); a tremendously talented New Jersey artist who we recently showcased for his excellent tropical-beats infused Brazillian-funk doozy called “Momento”. Get into the thoughtfully translated stripped-down folky-vibe acoustic-guitar-textured absolute perfection cover of 90’s-vintage Smashing Pumpkins gem (one of the best pop songs of its era) “1979” from Freedom Fry, the male-female Franco-American indie pop duo Marie Sayet and Bruce Driscoll; who we last discussed for “Tropicana”, a melody-driven track we featured for its brilliant vogey-vibrant vocals, straight-cheery upbeat tropical temperatures and hazed-out indie guitar grooves. We think the two artists collaborate beautifully to capture the uniquely-emoted epic-vibe dreamy-raw slow-poetic essence of the Smashing Pumpkins track while also putting their own stamp on the classic favorite (one of the best covers we have heard). A glowingly simplistic mesh of Sayet’s lovely murmur-y vocals and Driscoll’s accompanying bare-sensed golden-touch melody-centered acoustic folk-guitar chords, Freedom Fry’s “1979” is available for purchase on November 12th. Amazing. Reviewed by Erin Shay.
