Step into the mood-expansive space and tropical infused vibrations of “Rastaman” from reggae band Natural Numbers who impress on the track with a catchy guitar riff and classic soul-inspired keyboard melody. Their divine-opposite pairing of some surprisingly bittersweet rasta poet vocals awash a skillfully proportioned bright-side fun-in-the-sun dub sound makes for a pretty interesting mix. New track “Rastaman” is featured now on Stones Throw Records. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

As you may recall B3 recently featured the transfixing Knocks bootleg of 2015 melodic hip-hop jam “White Iverson” from Texan singer-rapper Post Malone. If you enjoyed both tracks half as much as we did check out the rad new mellowed-down trap-infused flip of “White Iverson” from a talented new fame-elusive producer act called Y//2//K. Thom Green of indie rock World Champions alt-J throws a clattering menacing new remix for Wolf Alice’s “Moaning Lisa Smile” single. We’re spooking out with Mr. Green’s selections for dingy dark musical left turns, caterwauling bass, and an overall aesthetic of peril. Wolf Alice’s debut LP My Love Is Cool is out June 23 on Dirty Hit/RCA.

“Mad About The Boy” is the latest from East London artist/producer AZEKEL. “Mad About The Boy” explores AZEKEL’s vocal/writing within a new frame of a Soulection/future soul-styled instrumental replete with 24th Century sonics and time-warp syncopations. AZEKEL’s “Raw, Vol. 1” EP, from which “Mad About The Boy” is excerpted, is due July 12 on Thunderlighting Recordings.

“Swim” is the second song online from UK act Cape Cub. “Swim”, quite simply, is a very accomplished piece of pop songwriting from its mid-career Coldplay-isms in the verse to its overwhelming anthemic and uplifting chorus hook (we can very easily hear 100,000 odd festival go’ers chanting back “if there’s something that you to know” at the top of their lungs). Stream “Swim” below.
