Art Bloc – Everyday (Feat. Beth Duck)

Surrey UK 18-year olds Jason Vaz and Harvey Wise debut online with the hazy stop-start vibe-y track “Everyday”. Featuring warm pads of synth atmospheres and rhodes, chopped up loops of vocal ostensibly from featured Beth Duck lilt about the mix in a dynamic technicolor whirl. We’re into it.

Premiere: Deep Dark Blue – Been Here Once Before

Deep Dark Blue are the Los Angeles-based duo of Jason Ganberg & Bryce Alber. The twosome operate around lush but ultimately quite memorable and singable pop writing neatly layered into a frame fitted with the expanse and space of deep house but with Radio 1/Hype Machine-ready care in the arrangement. New track “Been Here Once Before”, which we are very pleased to premiere at B3, follows the well-lauded (Buzzbands.LA, All Things Go, etc.) “Atoms” from March. Stream the strong “Been Here Once Before” below.

[B3SCI Records] Body Language – Just Let It / The Fall

B3 are very pleased to announce “Just Let It / The Fall” the new AA-single from Brooklyn band Body Language on B3SCI Records. Hilly Dilly calls “Just Let It” a “brilliant indie-pop effort” and Stereogum says about new stream “The Fall” “They’ve dropped a bunch of good singles since 2013’s Grammar, and their latest, ‘The Fall,’ continues the streak. Dreamy synth layers balancing an airy shimmer and deep sustained bass are punctuated by booming drums.” The single which is available now at B3SCI Records on limited 7″ pink vinyl is out today.

If you’re in L.A., San Diego or S.F., the band play a series of west coast dates this weekend which you can check below.
July 8 – Los Angeles, CA – Resident
July 9 – San Diego, CA – The Hideout
July 10 – San Francisco, CA – Bottom Of The Hill

Raveena – Johnny It’s The Last Time

NYC-based songwriter Raveena makes a much welcomed return to B3 with new single “Johnny It’s The Last Time” which we particularly love for its cool horn-driven chorus hook.

The Halves – Are You Happy?

Charlotte band The Halves make a strong online debut with jangly “Are You Happy?”. Constructed around a crashing, cathartic chorus, the melodic acumen displayed on “Are You Happy?” indicates a band in The Halves with a noticeable bit of songwriting skill. Introduce yourself to The Halves below.

BADBADNOTGOOD – In Your Eyes (Feat. Charlotte Day Wilson)

A favorite voice (Charlotte Day Wilson) collaborates with a favorite band (BADBADNOTGOOD) for 70’s symphonic soul-tinged (maybe Willie Hutch-esque?) track “In Your Eyes”. BBNG’s new IV LP is out today.

Jay Som – Rush

Last month we featured “I Think You’re Alright” the opposite side track from Jay Som a/k/a SF’s Melina Duarte’s new 7″ for Fat Possum. We dig the reverb-set “Rush” and it’s strong chorus hook. Listen to “Rush” below.

SOFI TUKKER – Awoo (Feat. Betta Lemme)

The Hypem hitmakers SOFI TUKKER fire another potent sortie in the form of big rhythmic track “Awoo”. A vaguely Latin syncopated piano line sets the aesthetic for “Awoo” as danceable layered drums and a rhythm-heavy main vocal further build out the track’s force and effectiveness. Stream “Awoo” below and look for the “Soft Animals” EP on July 8.

Fortunes – Angel

Melbourne AU act Fortunes turn in seriously impressive new stream “Angel”. Very accomplished melodically (the track reminds us a bit of Raheem DeVaughn or even D’Angelo in that department) and expertly framed-up by a spare set of 808’s and cycling loops of vocal and additional rhythmic samples, “Angel”‘s emotive impactfulness is enormous and immediate.
