The second in GEMS ongoing new track every full moon series (following on from “Blow Out the Light”) is “Free Fall”. The new one is an A+ exercise in rap-influenced rhythm structures melded to gaze-y guitars and modern indie pop melody. Spin “Free Fall” below.
B3SCI is very pleased to be teaming up with the L.A. Safety Coalition, The Bootleg Theater, Amoeba Music, Swing House, Buzzbands.la, Balcony TV, Everett, We Found New Music, LYKA and Angry Mob Music to co-present Love Trumps Hate at The Bootleg Theater in L.A. this Saturday (1/14). The event features an acoustic full-band set from The Silversun Pickups with support from YACHT, James Supercave, Nick Waterhouse and more. Saturday’s event will feature, too, a silent auction with items up for grabs from Fitz & The Tantrums, Leon Bridges, Young the Giant, Family of the Year, Mac DeMarco, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Angel Olsen, BØRNS, YACHT, Run River North, How to Dress Well, and Counting Crows. Manchester, UK’s excellent guitar-driven Spring King gained notoriety as having the first song played on Apple’s Beats 1 radio station. We hung out prior to their first LA show the night before the election, talking about the worldwide response to that spin, their music, their take on UK and US politics, who in the band is most like the dad, and much more.
