Midnight Pool Party – Vulnerable

New from Sydney, AU is “Vulnerable” from venerable duo Midnight Pool Party. Musically reminding us (at least construction-wise, and maybe not the exact intent) of late 90’s UK R&B-leaning pop like Daniel Bedingfield or Craig David, “Vulnerable” is in that way supremely sleek and effortlessly magnetic. Interview – Cloud Nothings

Great hang with Cloud Nothings band leader Dylan prior to their Teragram Ballroom show in LA March 3. His music. some politics, thoughts on the state of guitar rock, and his love for his native-Cleveland (B3’s hometown too!). He was a pretty chill dude, more so than his music would indicate.

Swindail – C’est la vie (Feat. Innanet James)

“C’est La Vie” by Swindail is an incredible song. He’s teamed up with innanet james and the outcome is absurd. Staying true to his whimsical energized sound Swindail meticulously sprinkles percussion and foley admist james’ lyricism. Stop by SoundCloud to keep up with them.

Premiere: Aaron Taos – Off My Mind (Video)

Back in February, we called Aaron Taos’ “Off My Mind” one of the best pop songs of thus far of this weird year of 2017. Well, 2017 is still weird and “Off My Mind” is still one of the year’s best thusfar. Effortless knockout hook one after another, “Off My Mind” bridges accessibility and pop artfulness in a particularly special way. We’re stoked to premiere the video for the track which in Aaron’s words centers on “essentially me going through a day stuck at my parents house thinking about this person I’m singing about.”, continuing, “When I first started seeing my girlfriend, she was in Virginia and I was home for the summer in New Haven, so the video is pretty accurate in that sense.” Look out for what is ostensibly a real-life cameo from Taos’ parents in the clip. Stream the B3 Premiere of Aaron Taos’ video for “Off My Mind” below and you can stream the track on Spotify here.

SHEIKH – Fonda

“Fonda” is the debut single online for London-based five-piece SHEIKH. The track, produced by Ian Dowling who has worked with a couple of bands you may have heard of called Jungle and Catfish and the Bottlemen (that Jungle production fidelity is particularly applicable here), ably bridges that especially difficult nexus of artfulness and accessibility quite well with the overall coherence and stickiness of the track being especially accomplished. Stream “Fonda” below.
