Atlas Genius, the Australian band who has broken through in the US in the last 24 months with their international hit “Trojans”, is preparing a new remix EP for great follow-up single “Molecules”. Here, dance music heavyweight Penguin Prison fit a a dynamic set of feet-movin’ synths and a big crossover-styled beat to “Molecules” neat pop hooks. The resulting mix is a really good dance-flavored swerve for the AG sound that we dig. We’re pleased to B3 Premiere Penguin Prison’s new remix for Atlas Genius’ “Molecules” single which is available for your listening perusal below!

Premiere: Travelers – My Fault

travelers

B3SCI are very pleased to premiere “My Fault”, the new track from Los Angeles band Travelers. Ruddered by a Californian/West Coast sonorousness (vaguely surf-y, reverbed-watched guitars give way to low touch rhythms and 60’s psychedelia-tinged harmonies and fidelity), “My Fault” is a PDT head trip wrapped up in the frame of an A+ indie pop song. We LOVE the track. Listen to the B3 Premiere of “My Fault” from Travelers below.

Premiere: Palace Winter – New Ghost

Palace_Winter_Daniel_Buchwald_1_web

Palace Winter, the duo of Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer-pianist Caspar Hesselager, follow up their Hype Machine topping track “Menton” with jangly new one “New Ghost”. The latest track rides a tight 4/4 and neat arpeggiated guitar figures to cool folk-influenced indie pop excellence. The particularly special component of “New Ghost” and what we love about Palace Winter generally are the unique/affecting/unexpected turns both melodically and in the chord progressions. A+.

Australian band Canary follow up their Triple J-supported Hypem-charting “Women’s Business” with the inventively-arranged acoustic pop of “Here We Go”. Constructed of a mortar of neat pop songwriting and a syncopated barrage of polyrhythms, “Here We Go” is particularly special for its unique sonorousness and its distinctive and effective use of vocal harmony (and beyond, the instrumental arranging here is next level too). We’re very pleased to premiere “Here We Go”, the second single from Canary’s forthcoming sophomore LP, I Am Lion.

Premiere: Kamikaze – Velvet Ghetto

kamikaze

We’re very pleased to premiere “Velvet Ghetto”, a the title track from Swiss band Kamikaze’s forthcoming EP on Mouthwatering Records. Reminding of the progressive R&B and jazz-tinged pop of bands like HONNE and Jungle, “Velvet Ghetto” rides an expertly produced route of inventive polyrhythms and jazzy chord changes while maintaining a cool pop tunefulness and structure. We dig. Look for the “Velvet Ghetto” EP from Kamikaze on Friday (Sept. 25).

We’re into the melodically sweet infectious indie pop from Montreal band How Sad and new track “Cloud Nine”. Well done. Stream the B3 Premiere of “Cloud Nine” from How Sad below and if you’re in Montreal, the band plays at La Vitrola Friday night (Thursday).

Premiere: Allman Brown – Rivers (Feat. Robyn Sherwell)

allmanbrown

“Rivers” is the stark, lyrically evocative new track from UK songwriter Allman Brown. Co-written by and featuring a favorite of ours in Robyn Sherwell, “Rivers” probes a vast swath of thematic motifs and emotional range to create a very powerful piece of songwriting. AB spoke on the track inspiration saying, “Rivers is a song about nature. It’s power; it’s intimacy and how it lives in our senses. It was the perfect song to collaborate with Robyn on as her voice has a balance of strength and fragility that is so elusive and seductive.” Yes! The nexus of a powerful narrative and exceptional vocal and melodic choices make “Rivers” a very effective song. We’re pleased to premiere “Rivers” by Allman Brown featuring Robyn Sherwell below.
