Little Stevie Wonder – Fingertips (Part 2)

little-stevie-wonder

“Part 2” is the flipside to the number one 1963 live single “Fingertips,” featuring a young Stevie Wonder and the great Marvin Gaye banging away on the skins. tracked on-the-spot at the Regal Theater in Chicago, this take is improv done right. someone in the band is yelling “what key?” not too mention random licks of ‘marry had a little lamb’. and it still sounds this good! you know something special was going down. take notes.

The Beatles – “Strawberry Fields Forever” (Love Version) and “I Me Mine”

the-beatles-animal

The Beatles – “Strawberry Fields Forever” (Love Version)

The Beatles – “I Me Mine” (Let It Be Naked Version)

an incredible remix done by the man, the myth, the legend George Martin and his son Giles. off the Love album released in November of ’06, as a soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show, “Strawberry Fields Forever” is built off an early acoustic demo made by John. Martin takes the song’s coda concept and runs with it, creating an incredible collage of themes from throughout The Beatles catalogue.

this brakes down the writing and recording process of “Strawberry Fields Forever” and here’s a killer link to get some of those early versions. speaking of their writing process, below is a highlight from their last original release.. the ‘Let It Be’ film, George Harrison’s “I Me Mine”. complete with John and Yoko making out and waltzing in fine fashion..
