LE$ – Gold Chain (Prod. Cardo)

les

Cardo’s one of our favorite producers doing it right now. Here he works the boards on track “Gold Chain” for Houston rapper (and Slim Thug-affiliate) LE$, who dropped his sharp new mixtape Menace today. The vibed out heater “Gold Chain” is our pick from the set it. Get it below.

Evy Jane – Sayso

evyjane

Vancouver duo Evy Jane come strong with new single “Sayso”. If you’re into Quadron or Kimbra or other like female-lead progressive R&B, Evy Jane is your definite go-to mix for that “special time” this weekend when the lights gets low and the mood gets soft. Too good.

Slow Magic – Music

slowmagic

The excellent/rich-sounding “Music” by the mysterious lavish beatsmith Slow Magic will be available as a bonus on an upcoming cassette only release of /\ from BK cassette label Words and Dreams. The cassettes will only be available at Slow Magic shows (that’s some pretty exclusive shit). So if you want to get your hands on this track (and that cool cassette) (at least until April, when /\ gets a full release), you’re gonna have to track down a Slow Magic live show. Go and get it!

The Ting Tings – Born to F.E.A.R. (Lana Del Rey x Ian Brown)

tingtings

Even Monkey Man is surprised by this one. And from all places The Ting Tings (remember them?)! The “That’s Not My Name” hitmakers rolled through Radio 1’s Live Lounge today and turned in an acoustic mash of LDR’s “Born to Die” and Ian Brown’s iconic track “F.E.A.R.” from 2001. The (awesome) results may surprise you. Play the track.

The Cold One Hundred – Sixteen Inside (Demo)

By Chris Gedos

coldonehundred

The most classically constructed rock song I’ve heard thus far in 2k12, The Cold One Hundred’s “Sixteen Inside” is a song for aficionados. A very Liverpudlian intro ripens into a Londoner verse and American college Rock chorus from the Manchester five piece, but with the geographical influences melded into something cohesive, original and much removed from the Factory Records legacy. The stuck-at-sixteen motif, rarely utilized by contemporary groups on either side of the pond, is perfectly employed here. Having already provided support for The Vaccines and Spector, it’s only a matter of weeks before The Cold One Hundred drops one of Mr. Lowe’s Hottest Records. The ghost of Alex Chilton nods his head in accordance.

Miles Bonny & B.Lewis – Bottom To Top

milesbonny

Two b3sci faves connect as KC soul crooner Miles Bonny jumps on new production from West Coast artist B.Lewis. “Bottom To Top” is a 3:24 full submersion experience in that futuristic soul. B.Lewis’ spacey but warm production layers form the perfect bed for Miles’ float-on-top-the-mix vocal tones. Spin “Bottom To Top” below.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – Shoot A Hole Into The Sun

noelgallaghershighflyingbirdsng

“Shoot A Hole Into The Sun” is a first taste of what’s to come on Noel Gallagher’s forthcoming Amorphous Androgynous collaboration. The track will also be featured as the b-side to his new “Dream On” single getting released on March 11. Segments of this track may sound familiar to those who caught Noel on tour in late 2011, where portions of the track were covertly mixed into the house speakers before he took stage. The psychedelic duo, Amorphous Androgynous, do a capable job of pushing the limits here on Noel’s sound and it will be interesting to hear what else is to come.

Chiddy Bang – Ray Charles (Jakwob Remix)

chiddybangraycharles

Three big names collide (love to the legendary Ray Charles) on this new official Jakwob mix for Chiddy Bang. Jakwob fits the Chiddy hit with aplomb mixing in a pounding snare, a great backbeat, and the requisite nu-step buzzes and blips. You can find Jakwob’s remix as part of the “Ray Charles” iTunes single.

Calvin Harris – Bounce (Keljet Remix)

By Chris Gedos

calvinharrisbounce

Check out this saucy remix by Keljet of “Bounce”. It retains the saccharine, carefree feeling of the original while making a remix ready for patrons of both the U.S. club and Euro discotheque. By not tampering with the original song too much, Keljet has concocted a dittie at least as infectious as the original. Get it below.
